Give them some time to get accustomed to their new home.

Once they appear to be calm, try to walk nearer to the cage and speak softly so that they can recognize your voice.

Try not to rush with this. If you are afraid of getting bite, use a tool to put her food in the cage. Feed your pet with your hand but maintain some distance away from the food to allow her to get used to your presence.

To make your hamster pet even more exciting, you can train them to perform certain action. It is just like dogs and cats, hamsters can be trained.

The only key needed to train a hamster is patience. As long as you have the patience, you can train them well.

The best time to start training your hamster is when it is still small.

Give a name to your hamster and call its name when you train or play with it. This will helps your hamster to understand that you are talking to her.

During your training, you can give them rewards if they did what you've asked them to or they have successfully perform a certain act. For example, you can give them sunflower seeds if they stand when your hand is above their head.

Do not overwhelm your hamsters by training them all day long. Teach them slowly and train them with only one skill at a time.

You can train your hamsters skills such as shaking hands, jumping, potty training and more. It can be tough, but it is possible to do all these skills.
